Injections

Injections are another very useful conservative treatment option for spine-related pain.

They are more effective than an oral medication because they deliver medication directly to the anatomic location of the pain origin. The injections that are available are:

• Epidural Steroid Injection - helps to decrease an inflammation and to shrink a swelling;
• Facet Joint Injection - helps to reduces the inflammation in the facet joint space;
• Selective Nerve Root Block Injection - helps to relief of low back pain and/or leg pain;

There are some other following injections more or less often used for therapy and diagnose of spine-related pain:

• Facet rhizotomy injection - pain relief by disabling the sensory nerve that goes to the facet joint;
• Sacroiliac joint block injection - to relief the pain associated with sacroiliac joint dysfunction;
• Trigger point injection - to treat back and neck muscle spasm and other soft tissue problems;
